My complaints about MK11
Johnny Cage: In MK11 he has no High and Low mixup. No amazing overhead. This is the only game he has no good High and Low mixups. I don't know if people complained about high and low mixups for Netherealm to remove them from Johnny Cage to make him this boring to play. The Wing Man move should have been a combo starter. It feels like a half move.
Enhancing a nut punch into a kick is kinda boring, it's just not cinematic. The MKX Johnny Case enhanced nut punch was done correctly. MK11 Johnny Cage feels like a street fighter character, even the MKX Johnny cage is kinda clunky.
If we compare his MK9 moves, even the speed and recovery of his 1,1 punch on MK9 was way better than his MK11 punches. In MK11 2,1, forward 2 is a good move especially with the other string 2,1, back 3 which is nice martial arts move MK11 is just not threatening as a video game. He just need to start fighting like he did in MK9 and stop fighting like a yoga and Tae Bo ho
Liu Kang: The enhanced bicycle kick in MK11 is fucking stupid, a wasted slot. It could have been replaced with a cinematic move. Let's be real, the move is not enhanced, it is prolonged, it doesn't morph into another move. The Martial Arts in MK11 are horrible. This is lazy programming, come on, who came up with this Liu Kang? No good overhead, no impressive high and low mixups, no Dragon Seeks Path, no Showdown, Launching Fury and Immortal Dragon. MK11 Liu Kang is created like a punk, disgraceful to the Dragon name. His fireballs are pathetic, how is that an enhanced fireball, low fireball to high fireball, that's enhanced? The most boring Liu Kang in the history of Mortal Kombat. MK11 Liu Kang is not a Dragon in terms of fire and speed. Scorpion is the best fire element user in the game compared to Liu Kang and Shang Tsung.
Scorpion ★: He is okay. The few complaints I have is the sword swinging styles of Soul Calibur's Heishiro Mitsurugi, Ivy Valentine's whip and Cassandra Alexandra's spear punch. It's not a big issue but maybe it's just a coincidence. He has a problem just like many characters, his moves are not combo starters and his punches are not impressive for a ninja, he is a street fighter too. Even though I have complaints about scorpion I have to say some of his moves are well animated
Sub Zero ★: His MK11 punches are okay, the biggest change from MK9 to MKX was his ice clone positioning, that change kind of limited sub zero's domain. My favourite move from MK9 was when he broke the ice sword on the opponents's chest. MK9 sub zero is the best sub zero, no variation can reach that level. I did enjoy the MKX Cryomancer with the ice sword, that variation was 2 moves away from being perfect. You could do a lot with and without the ice ball. What I like about MK11 Subzero is the speed of his fight sequences. His mixups are actually nice and cinematic. Sub Zero would need more moves than he already has to spice up his mid screen combos.
Frost ★: She aight, I like her move sequences and possible combos. She had the first combos I enjoyed in MK11. She is a good ninja. She could have been better.
Kano: MK9 Kano was okay, after that I was not impressed at all. His cannonball is no longer as threatening. I expected a lot from his laser and cybernetics since it is his trademark look. He represents what I hate in MK11, too much wrestling instead of martial arts. In the future you could give him some tech weapons on the wrist or embedded on the body that would blend. He is boring in mid screen like the majority of characters. He is literally a street fighter
Night Wolf: His speed is okay, not really. His punches are okay. Special moves are not impressive. He is not cinematic. He has MKX Takeda's blade drop so he is not an authentic character. The fast axe swing of MK9 was nice. In MK11 he fights like a human as if he doesn't belong there
Kitana: She stole Jade's moves in MKX. Can we say she stole Mileena's moves in MK11 when she already had a teleporting ability? MKX Kitana rising power was good. Air Float was also a good move.
Mileena: She is a clown 🤡, instead of using her own signature moves she want to be both Kitana and Sindel. She even copied MK9 Skarlet's close combat dagger/blade moves. Just give us reptile and stop giving reptile moves to these clowns. They should have just something similar to MKX Mileena. She is authentically trash.
Skarlet ☆: Horrible, boring moves, the worst ninja in MK11, the designers/programmers failed to make her good. She has no martial arts, her scythe is fucking pathetic. Her Cell Siphon is Quan Chi's move, her boiling point is Scorpion's move, bloodspot is nice, blood splatter looks like Sub Zero's ice burst move. Where do I begin? Her combo recovery is slow. blood tentacle should have been better than that, now it just looks like a Kenshi move. In Mk9 Skarlet had amazing fast dagger toss, down slash, up slash, blood drop, red slide, coagulation, "Back 1, 1, Forward 4", Flesh and Blood. The MK9 Scarlet was a ninja, Mk11 Skarlet is a troll, not a ninja.
Noob Saibot: He is not a fighter. Period. I imagined fighting black holes, shadows bodies and shadow punches. I don't see the ninja in noob or any martial arts. His weapon is not impressive
Joker: I believe MK11 was made by the Joker
Robocop: Fuck Robocop, we don't want robot chicken, we want Sektor who is already in the game. Robocop doesn't have moves at all, he is a skin of Sektor with a Stryker character
Geras: I don't like his moves, too much wrestling, I like vigorous combat. I hate it when special moves are replaced by grabbing moves, it slows down and cools down the fight. I expected a lot from Geras, he could have been dope
Erron Black: Acid trap is pathetic, that's reptile's acid, no authenticity for this one. He is overrated, the studio gives him easy combo, overheads and mixups and yet he is not the main character. If Netherealm is gonna give a clown like this an overhead mixer instead of important characters, then what can I say. Without the overhead, Erron Black is not good while other characters are amazing without overheads. If they had the same passion when creating other non-guest characters maybe he wouldn't be overrated. Although he was a beast in MKX.
Terminator: Not impressed. I expected more, you could have exaggerated him.
Sindel: Seriously Netherealm, do you even know what a cool fighting move is. Her reaction time is horrible. This is the Queen of Shao Kahn's realm, whoever created Sindel's character has bad taste in fighting games. Sindel is fun but her moves and the way she is programmed is horrible, not cinematic at all. MK11 isn't her game. I don't feel like this is Sindel, her moves are not cool. Her spear is like Soul Calibur's Hildegard von Krone in terms of gameplay. Her movements feel kinda like MK11 Shang Tsung. The reaction time of her Arcane Overload is horrible and clunky. I'm not impressed by the whip lashes from hair snap. Come Forward is cinematic. Evil Queen should project the opponent up but that is good for MKX. If the Malevolent Queen move started at the end all the way backwards it would have made Sindel interesting for mixups. Back It Up is kinda sexy but not a combo starter. Bride of Kahn, not an impressive move. Jerrod's Betrayer and her Dark Intentions don't lead up to a combo. Dark Intentions would be good for MKX. The Sindel animal scream is okay, it adds the dark atmosphere to the game. The Regal Presence is nice and her energy burst (Queen's Dominion). The Maleficent scream walk is so cinematic, it would be a good finisher and combo mixer in MKX. Royal Trap is nice while she is channeling her Shang Tsung orbs. Banshee Barage is nice and cinematic but it doesn't launch a midscreen combo in MK11. But MKX would have balanced the reaction time to allow a combo. Low Star Screamer is nice. Mane Squeeze could have been better. I don't like most of her moves so when you add the custom variation option, picking her apart just makes her more boring than she already is. Most of her moves I mentioned do not create combos. When Netherealm said Sindel was coming to the game, I was expecting some wicked shit, this is softcore Sindel, something I expect from Earth realm, not Queen Sindel or Outworld
Kotal Kahn: Not a good representation of the Sun God. Kotal Kahn is more strength based than Martial Arts based. I rarely play with him. He is okay, I just wish the Sun God was someone more Martial Arts orientated instead of Shao Kahn orientated. I wonder if Kai would have been a better fire elemental. Another thing is Kotal fights like Nightmare and Siegfried from Soul Calibur
Citreon: My favourite guest character but she is not a fighter. Horrible close combat. She has Devil Jin's Inferno Light Beam (Hell Wrath). Citreon and Sub Zero have my favourite character grab moves. Wind Storm move feels kinda Sindel. Imminent Eruption should have been a good combo starter. Seismic energy is nice mixup. Fire Nado and Fire Brimstone are cinematic, this is what I was hoping for in Liu Kang. The only problem is these are not combo starters. Natural Ending, Ultimate Potential and Lifecycle are nice. Enhanced Natural Barrier is nice. The boulders rock are nice. Erathquake is nice. She actually has a lot of moves. Circle Of Life, Geyser, H2 Port. She is good I just wish she was more fighter based
Jade ★: She is okay. I like her fight sequences. I like her speed. She is cinematic. But she could be better. She could use more moves like an overhead mixup, even Kitana could use that too. Her gameplay is limted by MK11, I can see her in MKX, her Deadly Butterfly would fit in the gameplay mechanics and speed, along with her palm attacks. but she would still need more moves for MKX. I don't know if the Pole Vault running assault move is originally Kitana's or her's. The Temptations move is nice and also Simple Seduction. If Baited and Teaser started with the same string that would have been insane ♁. The Edenian Spark (green ray) is okay. Vanishing Winds is animated nicely, even it's enhanced version makes sense, unlike Liu Kang's enhanced bicycle kick. If Delta's Dance lifted the opponent up that would have been insane. Betrayal ain't a good combo starter. Playtime is Over would be a good finishable move in MKX reaction times. Divine Forces is also not a bad move
Jax: Not cinematic as MK9 and MKX. No impressive combo potential with those moves. This is not his game, he is a street fighter in Mortal Kombat.
Devorah: I don't like her moves, they are not entertaining. Not cinematic.
Shang Tsung: The good part is he can morph into ninjas without pulling the soul out of the opponents. I don't like his speed in terms of move sets, he is better than MK9 Shang Tsung, only the reaction time is not fast enough. DeadlyTruth is okay. Spiritual Eruption is okay. Dark Arts is nice (cinematic), it would have made a nice midscreen combo finisher. Bad Omen should have been a combo starter. Soul Torment could have been a good move to use to opponents in MKX. Dragon's Claw Gouge is okay. Burning Vigor is cinematic, it could have been a good combo finisher. Playtime is also good for finishing combos. Death Trap and Damned Souls should be finishable, they are cinematic. Burning Evil should have been finishable. Sorcery Rush is okay. Crashing Flames is a nice move. Screaming Soul is a nice move too. Scatter Souls would have been nice for combos. His Ground Eruption is okay. I won't mention the moves which are not his
Shao Kahn: I can't say much. I can only compare him to MK9. All I can say is in MK9 he was overpowered, if he was like that in MK11, y'all would be crying.
Kabal: The game limits him. He should have been in MKX. MK11 is too slow for him. The MK9 Gas Blast projectile in air and when standing would have been nice. Low Hook Grab should have been a combo launcher instead of an ender. Amplified Low Spinner should be a combo. Kabal MK11 is not amazing

Kollector: I don't play those type of characters. Not a fan of zombies and goblins
Raiden: The idea of Liu Kang, Johnny Cage, Erron Black, Jacqui, Jax or Sonya having faster punches than Raiden is atrocious. Next time you create a Mortal Kombat game, try to make him fight like lightning instead of fag playing tag. His move list is horrible for days. Nothing cinematic or memorable, Hammer fist should launch the opponent in the air instead of down. Heavy Storm move and Thunder Knee should have more moves than that. Rising Lighting would be good for MKX kombos. Down Pour would have been good for finishing combos if Raiden had good combos in MK11, Distant Thunder is a good non combo move. Divine Power and Sudden Energy are okay moves, just not for starting combos. Overlord and Flash Storm should have been combo starters. Deadly Storm would be a good combo finisher. Wrath of God would be a good combo starter if the reaction time was fast or if Raiden had better special moves and cancels. Might of Modulus is okay but it could have been better. Summon Lightning is okay (cinematic). The Lightning strike feels kinda Black Adam. A better lightning strike would suit Raiden. Electric Fly is okay but is not for combo starting. Electric Current would have been a good combo starter. Storm Cell is slow. Super Bolt is cinematic. Enhanced Jo Push is nice also, could have been a nice combo starter. Electric Burst is nice space control. Lightning Storm is okay for spicing the gameplay. The design/programming for Raiden is bad, very bad. The fact that Netherealm puts too much effort on guest characters than original characters is bad on the long run, especially when they are wasting good moves on characters that don't belong in the franchise. This is not Raiden. In Mk9 Raiden's Electric Fly was intense you feel it whether you were playing or watching. The 1,2,1,2 punches were nice followed by an electrocute move and then the Electric Fly. Even the 3,3,4 followed by an Electric Fly was okay. Back 3,1,2 was a good combo starter and over head too followed by teleport, electrocute and electric fly. MK9 Raiden is still the best Mortal Kombat type of Raiden and the fastest Raiden. The real Raiden is threatening, not this new Raiden.
Fujin: I don't feel like he is cinematic. I don't like his speed, I hate waiting and watching while he performs his moves, he should have been a faster wind. Tornado Twist is nice, Divine Wind is nice, Wind Kicks is nice, Krossbow Blast is now enhanced which did not need to be enhanced in Mortal Kombat 4, the enhancement could have been used for something else. Air Slam would have been good for MKX. His special moves are okay, I'm just not impressed by his Martial Arts and fight sequence. I feel like they limited him because he already had advantage special moves like Wind Barriers and long range attacks. His Krushing Zephyr is Liu Kang's enhanced bicycle kick in MKX, non-authentic. His sword style feels like Patroklos Alexander from Soul Calibur and Kenshi's Telekinetic controlled sword. His air-walking reminds of bleach, and Saku walking on the grass in Jet Li's movie: The Legend of The Swordsman. Long Live Dawn, Long Live The Sun-Moon Set
Cassie Cage: Boring, Harley Quinn wannabe. She is not a fighter
Spawn: Not cinematic. Soul Chamber is a good move, but it's a combo ender. Fighting The Phlebiacs would be a good combo starter in MKX. Heaven & Hell is a good move but it is a finisher. Vacillators Decision would have been a good combo starter. Violator's Wrath is nice too. Blaze of Glory is cinematic move and has good enhancement. Final Phantasm, come on that's Scorpion's move. Charging Hellspawn is not that impressive. I don't like his gameplay in general, he is not a Martial Artist.
Rain ☆: He doesn't feel like a ninja. He feels like a Soul Calibur character. MK11 Rain is not a Ninja. The heavy slice looks boring. The weapon is boring compared to his palm attacks in MK9. Let's Get Krazy is a good move, just not sure if it is good for MK11, it's alternative move Scandalous is also nice for a combo finisher. Thieves in Edenian Garden is a good combo ender but I'm trying to see how it is different from Spawn's striking fist. What The Hell and Soggy Bottom are cinematic. His arm piercing combos are boring, When Mortals Key and Prince of Man. Rain and Suffering would have been a good mixup for combos. Geyser Palm reminds me of Raiden, I'm trying to enjoy this move but it feels redundant. Argus Plurge is a nice combo ender (Electric Fly rip off). Hydroplane is nice for spicing up the gameplay. Nothing wrong with Water Ball, that is his original move. Quantum Slice is cinematic and it evolves the character from the previous Rain. Purple Rain is a returning move, he could summon lightning before, it is a good move. His Tidal Wave is a good space control. Hydro Boost reminds me of Sub Zero's Rising Ice. Wave Dash is nice.
Kung Lao: I like his moves, his one of the last Martial Arts worthy fighters left. He is cinematic. He just doesn't have enough moves and combo launchers. But his moves are impressive
Sonya: She good, even Raiden said so in the scorpion's animated movie. I like her speed and attack mixups
Conclusion: I can see the game has substituted long combos string with krushing and fatal blows. I understand this was made for casual gamers to enjoy the whole game. Instead of downgrading the game speed into footsies and slow reaction time, why don't you create a casual mode for casual players. I don't see what business casual players have in Professional Competitions. I don't even want to play casual Mortal Kombat gamers in my life especially after what they did to Mortal Kombat. When the run Mechanism was removed that was a big gamble, a shot in the foot. In action movies and anime have you seen fighters beating their opponents and running or quickly dashing long distance to finish their opponents, if you haven't seen that, well we have. That's the modern tier of God-Level-Fighting animations, and MK11 is not on that level, it is exactly what it is, a casual game even though it is still dominated by Pros. Most games try their best to have the player to many thing in one gameplay regardless of which genre the game is, I just don't understand how MK11 is trying to do the opposite. At least most First Person Shooter players don't have to deal with this nonsense. Most fighting games have iconic characters that always return and they remain priority, other new characters are also added. At least the Kustom Kombat is finally unlocked, we will see where this goes, maybe I might like it, maybe not.
